My name is Juanma Fernández-Costa and I am a senior researcher in the Biosensors for Bioengineering group led by Prof. Javier Ramón in the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia.
I am a molecular biologist with more than 15 years of experience in muscular dystrophy disease research. I obtained my PhD at the University of Valencia, working in the Translational Genomics group of Prof. Rubén Artero.
My research is currently focused on developing muscle-on-a-chip devices using 3D skeletal muscle tissues from patient-derived cells and biosensors.
